Victorian Rolled Gold Book Chain

A rare rolled gold book chain with two different patterns on either side. This style, which became popular during the Victorian era, often featured ornate engraving and was used for necklaces, especially those holding lockets or cameos. It's got it's namebecause its links are flat, rectangular pieces of metal that are folded and interlocked to resemble the binding of a book.
