Antique 14kt Rose Gold Scottish Moss Agate Lace "Fichu" Pin

A lace or 'fichu' pin dating to the latter Georgian era and featuring a lovely semi translucent Scottish Moss Agate. Circa 1810, the tiny brooch is framed in 14kt rose gold with pinched and engraved borders often seen in jewels of the time.

A fichu pin or lace pin as they are sometimes referred to, is a small pin used to secure the two ends of the scarf in the front. The word fichu, from the French for neckerchief, is a triangular scarf, often made of lace, worn about the shoulders and pinned in front.
